Essential Guide for Vegetarian Nutrition

Most of the foods that are eaten in the 21st century are chosen not for their bodily benefits. They are consumed to make the body happy. Happiness that ends up destroying the body.  There are also those who abstain from certain foods, especially animal products, for various reasons including religious beliefs. For example, Hindus are allowed to use milk and vegetables. They are forbidden to eat all kinds of meat, including fish and eggs. Buddhists are not allowed to use any meat, some plants like onion, water onion and and so on.

There are also communities within the Hindu faith that are not allowed to use milk at all. In some Christian denominations, there are various prohibitions on the use of certain foods. These include meat, milk, salt, and sugar. Those religions forbid the use of foods for religious or health reasons, while others are just cultural or customary prohibitions.

There are foods that are attractive to eat but are dangerous for our physical, mental and spiritual health. We must follow the guidance of the Bible’s teachings about clean and unclean foods

The choice of very helpful our health teachings but also the teachings of our culture. Great attention is needed in choosing the type of food. If a person’s health, faith, or culture requires abstaining from certain foods, they must find alternatives. These alternatives prevent the effects of lacking certain nutrition. For example, for those who don’t eat eggs, there are many things they miss that are important for health. Such a person, should look for substitute foods of eggs to change the nutritional equation of the body.

It is important when choosing food to consider that you should:

  • Consume energy-dense food to keep body weight. Pay close attention to the types of your daily activities.
  • Choose the best food with full nutrition. Use raw food that will give you protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals.
  • Have a wide variety of food to compensate for those found in meat products. Especially if you don’t use animal foods or products.
  • Use whole foods in the seed or grain groups.
  • Pay attention to food colors, softness and taste because they attract the body and mind. There are foods of all colors. It is recommended that our tables be decorated with foods of all colors in the rainbow. Each plant species has its own types of nutrients that are not found in other plants. Consider eating lots of different colored plants to meet your body’s nutrient needs. Eat enough in one meal.
  • Consume at least raw salad at least per day. This pickle holds a mixture of vegetables, tomatoes, carrots, cabbage, roasted peanuts, olive oil and Centella asiatica.
  • For those who use plant products only, they need to get Vitamin B12 (Cyanobalamin) tablets. They should also take Vitamin D and Calcium minerals. Minerals and vitamins are not found in plants but in meat products.
Centella asiatica leafs: one of medicinal plants that can cure mental fatigue, stomach ulcers, diarrhea, fever, epilepsy, syphilis and asthma. They can be eaten raw in salad.

How to Choose a healthy Breakfast

After eight hours of sleep, the body prepares to get new food, so it is imperative that you have breakfast. Breakfast is the most important meal because it comes after many hours of the body staying without food. Eating a balanced diet is very important. It should include a mixture of foods that fulfill all the body’s needs. In the morning, the body’s cells prepare to distribute food. They are ready to carry a variety of nutrients in abundance. This helps to compensate for its loss or shortage in the body. When you wake up, it is important to give breakfast a great importance. Consider these:

  • Eat a adequate breakfast right after waking up. Drinks like soda or juice can not restore energy in the body. They are not suitable for the morning because the poison in them will be absorbed abundantly into the body.
  • Start with enough fruit in your mix. Fruits like papayas, mangoes, peaches, bananas, watermelons, apples, grapes, tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, carrots, etc. will help you get enough vitamins and minerals. When you decide to use fruits, do not eat vegetables and fruits in one meal. Avoid using fruits when you include leafy vegetables in a meal.
  • Use vegetables like green beans (flesh beans), legumes, asparagus, spinach, broccoli, onions and garlic, round potatoes, sweet potatoes, pumpkins.
  • Also use nuts: peanuts, almonds, coconut, sesame, sunflower, pumpkin or watermelon seeds, egg whites or soybeans as alternatives. They will help you get Omega 3 fatty acids.
  • Use fortified products instead of milk. If you don’t use meat, make sure you use milk in abundance. It helps you get vitamin B12, which is found in animals and not in plants. Fortified foods are a type of food that has been supplemented with nutrients.
  • Use olive oil. It helps to dilate the blood vessels thus making the blood flow easily. Sunflower oil reduces the level of iron in the blood. Use avocados in abundance to compensate for fat in the body along with vitamin E, A and D.
In some conditions where nutrients are insufficient, it is recommended to use supplements. These are substances to supplement a person’s normal diet.

Something Important to Consider Choosing what to Eat

  • Plant-based diets consist of foods from whole seeds, legumes, nuts, seeds, and fruits. They also include a small amount of milk, eggs, fish, and meat. Do not eat processed foods because they do not contain enough nutrients. Make sure two-thirds of your food mix is whole grains. Animal products are a good source of calcium, vitamins, and protein.
  • Plants like broccoli and olives also contain calcium minerals in abundance. You can find them in juices containing these minerals and soy milk. These minerals can help you fight cancer. Using plant products in abundance can reduce the possibility of getting diseases. These diseases are caused by eating animal products and include high blood pressure, cancer, diabetes, and weak bones.
  • There are also economic benefits. It prevents a person from diseases caused by bad eating. It makes a person live longer without illness.
  • Middle-aged and older women need about 1,600 calories per day. Girls and active women need 2,000 calories per day. Active boys and men need 2,500 calories per day. This shows that the body needs regular supplementation of energy and nutrients. This prevents the body from using the extra energy and nutrients stored in the body. These nutrients and energy are stored for when food is scarce. They are also stored for situations of stress that will cause a lack of food. It is very important to consider your schedule of food intake, type of food and rest.
