The Kingdom of God is likened to a mustard seed and a yeast. These things are small but can do great things when placed in the right environment.
Although the environment may be good, there are times when the seed refuses to germinate bacause of internal factors. This means that a member may be given a good environment that can make him grow spiritually but he does not grow.
There are various reasons such as scriptural knowledge, religious will, etc.
Moses’ environment in the palace, prevented him from growing spiritually so he remained aware of a theoretical God and not a practical God.
Because that environment prevented Moses from knowing God, God had to remove Moses from the palace to live in the wilderness. While in the wilderness, the environment forced out the pride of being an academic, military or financial son of a king from Moses
It was there that he first knew God in his 80 years on earth.
